Being Busy

During this month of December I have been busy a lot. One of the things that made me busy was doing Madrigal Dinner. If you aren't familiar with it, I will tell you. Basically, it is put on by the choir. So, it is a dinner and it takes place in the middle ages kind of period. Most of the people in choir including me were wenches and pagans and the rest (those who were in chamber choir) were either beggars or they were in the royal court. There is no doubt that it was fun it just took a lot of my time. My family even came one night so that was cool to serve them. This month it seems like my teachers are in the mood of handing a lot of homework. For example, I have been taking a College Writing class because obviously I like English. But I wasn't expecting the way the class is run. I like the teacher but she is kind of boring. We had to do this research paper and I didn't want to do it, but the good thing was we got to choose the topic. The thing is I have been so

Twilight Madness

Image
So on Saturday, the girls in our family were able to go see Twilight the movie. Going into the movie, I didn't really have high expectations for it but after seeing it I thought it was really good. I enjoyed a lot. There were some things that were disappointing but for the most part it was really good. Next, we went to lunch and ate at Paradise Bakery and Cafe. The food was really good. I highly recommend this cafe. After that, we left to go watch the big game between BYU and Utah. If you know me, you know I am a big fan of the Cougars so I was hoping that they would win, but unfortunately they got destroyed by the Utes. They had six turnovers. That it was what I thought cost the game. Still it was a great weekend.

Recap from October to November

I am sorry to say, but I am really bad at managing my posts. Sometimes I write one every two weeks and sometimes I don't write for a month, so again I apologize. Halloween was so much fun. I was a vampire. I have a picture of my brother and I. It is really cool, so I'll post it soon. The thing that was fun about Halloween was for the first time we did a Haunted House. It look a whole lot of work to make but it was sure worth it. The fun part of it all was scaring the little kids. We even made one girl cry, sadly enough (not really). Even thirteen year old boys were scared to go in, what's up with that. A seven year old even went in by herself with no trouble at all. Our neighborhood really doesn't get a lot of trick-or-treaters because our houses are so spread apart. They don't know that our neighborhood give the big size candy bars. We had more than double trick-or-treaters come this year than last year so that was awesome. I don't know if you hav

Six Quirks-Tagged by Shana

Directions: Tell six unspectacular quirks about yourself, and then tag six fellow bloggers. Link to the person who tagged you. #1 When I watch a football or basketball or any other game I get very competitive and a lot of times you can see me screaming at the television telling the refs that they suck. I get so focused in the game that nothing matters to me at all at that point. #2 When I clean the kitchen everything has to be perfect. I also like to clean by myself. I hate when people are in there while I am cleaning because I just like to do it on my own with no distractions. I especially hate it when someone comes in gets something to eat and leaves their mess for me to clean up. Even if it just some bread crumbs it has to be CLEAN!!!!!!! #3 I am absolutely terrifed of spiders. It doesn't matter if they are small or huge because they still bother me and I especially hate having to be the one to kill them. Honestly, when I see one I make someone else kill it because I d

Whats up now ESPN!

Image
Last week, when BYU barely won Washington with a blocked field goal, ESPN and many others thought that Washington got cheated. Others also thought that BYU did not deserve the 15 ranking it had. Today, many thought this would be a tough battle between UCLA and BYU, but I am here to tell you that BYU wasted, dominated, creamed, crushed, and annilated UClA 59 to 0. Max Hall got an amazing 7 touchdown passes and was 27/35 for 271 yards. Austin Collie also had an amazing day with 110 yards receiving and two touchdown passes. Dennis Pitta and Harvey Unga also had two touchdown passes each. So I am here to tell the whole country, to not count BYU out. They deserve to be the top 25 and they also deserve a BCS Bowl. So, keep up the good work, Cougars.

What has been going on in my life

Image
So, its been three weeks since school has started and I already have "Senioritis". That might be a bad sign. I actually like a lot of my classes especially AP Psychology. Right now, we are learning about neuroscience. I have to admit I thought it would be easier but it is not. It is still interesting though. 54 vocabulary words to learn. One of my favorite words is myelin sheath because it is associated with speed. The need for speed oh yeah. Also, I didn't think I would like Public Speaking very well, because well duh, it is public speaking. But so far, it has gone well. Today, I actually gave a speech about the "lipstick pig" issue with Barak Obama and the rest of the Republican party. The reason why I am beginning to like this class is because of the discussion and debate that students make. There was a lot of debate the students gave after I delivered it. On Thursday, was September 11th. I kind of, NO I was disappointed with the fact that no one m

So You Think You Can Dance is over already

It seems like the show just started and now it is already over. In my opinion, I thought this was the best season ever. All the top 4 deserved to be there, including Courtney. Because at first, I was shocked that Chelsea, got eliminated, but Courtney turned out to be better than I expected her to be. Overall, each and every one of them were very talented, and added their own thing to the competition. Starting out with the girls, what I loved about Katee was her desire to dance. Just like Cat said, "you were born to dance" and she really was. Every dance she performed on stage were amazing. What I liked about Courtney was her flow of energy she brought to the dance stage. It didn't matter if the judges gave her a hard time on a dance she was still smiling and having a good attitude. Chelsea, first off, what an amazing dancer she was, especially inLatin routines. She smoked everyone! I think it was when she danced with Gev, that the judges said she was the one that stood ou

Highland Fling

So, like I said in my last post we went to the annual Highland fling. That was fun. The first thing we did there was we listened to Jenny JordanFrogley for a little bit. Then we went over and saw a BMX stunt show. I thought this part was one of my favorites of the day. They had some guys on bikes and one on a skateboard do some awesome tricks. I thought this show was way better than last year. Then, we went back to the stage and listened to Sam Payne. I have already seen him a couple times before, and he was wonderful. He was this time to. He has an interesting voice. Sometimes he is serious in his songs but than he has some fun songs where he goes out and does his thing, so it was pretty fun. After that, we left and got lunch and came back at 10:00 for the fireworks. We should've came earlier for the fireworks because when I came there was like no parking spots available. It kind of made me frustrated. But after searching a little while we found a spot out on the street and sa

Breaking Dawn Madness

So, on Friday night I went to the Midnight party at Borders to get Breaking Dawn. So, in order to get the book we had to get wristbands. The one I got was 647, meaning I was the 647th person. So, when it was midnight we waited for a long time and it seemed like the line was not moving, so we heard that Walmart had them and there was a lot of copies left. So we left, and instead went to Walmart. And sure enough, there was not that many people there and there was a lot of copies left. So what a waste of gas, to go all the way to Borders? But anyways, so I am reading it and I am not that far though. I am on page 200, so I still have a long way to go. Breaking Dawn is longer than the others. There are 754 pages to be exact maybe it is because it is the last book in the series. That is kind of sad to think of, but I heard that she is making several other books to the Host, of course Midnight Sun (Twilight in Edwards perspective) and interestingly enough she isthinking about writing a ghos

Girl's Camp

So, from July 21st to July 25th I was able to go up to Mutual Dell for Stake Girl's Camp. I have to admit I like Ward camp better but it was still fun. On the first day, we arrived up and camp and first off set camp up. Then, we went to the amphitheatre where we were Welcomed to Camp by the Stake leader. After that, we watched a Book of Mormon re-enactment from the 20th ward (f.y.i. each ward was given a specific story from the Book of Mormon to act out). We then headed down to the pavilion where we enjoyed a tasty lunch and then we made these cute Book of Mormon covers as a craft. More wards then acted out their re-enactments. Then we had dinner, and after we YCL's taught FHE lesson to a group of girls. Finally, after a long day we got to to go back to our camp. The next day Tuesday we had breakfast and a devotional before we went on a Hike. I went on the Hike with the second years, and I was not expecting the hike would be so hard. First off, it was like up-hill the

Fun Stuff!

So on Thursday I was able to go and get my Senior pictures. I don't know if this sounds weird or not but I kind of felt like a model because the photographers would have you do all these poses and then they would take a bunch of pictures of you. It was actually really fun. The only thing, is I don't why but when taking pictures it's hard for me to smile for some reason. What I mean is, its hard to make a good smile. So, here I am the photographer is trying to get me to smile and on top of that there's my mom in the back giving me goofy expressions trying to get me to smile. It was kind of embarrasing, but oh well. Then, we went up to Manti and were able to watch the Mormomn pagent. Before that we had dinner, that consisted of a wonderful BBQ Turkey and other good side disihes. It was wonderful. We all sat on a blanket and watched it with the Manti temple in the background. I thought it was really good. My favorite was seeing Christ appearing to the Nephites and

School is Over!

Wow, another school year has gone by. Again school has gone so fast. I can't believe it is already summer. I am so exicted. I finally get to relax and not have to worry about homework and studying for tests. The hard thing to believe is I am going to be a senior in high school next year. Crazy huh? It just seemed like yesterday I was a sophmore. Not anymore though. For Acapella choir we had to go sing at Graduation and when the graduates were walking out receiving their diplomas I couldn't help but think that could be me. Rather, I wish that was me. Only another year though, so I'll take it. So far, this summer I have been able to see some movies. First, I went and saw Ironman. That was an awesome show. Some things I thought they shouldn't have put it but it was cool for the most part. Then, I have also seen Prince Caspien (a.k.a. Narnia). I liked that one too. Some parts they put in that doesn't relate to the book at all but I liked it just the same

Just some Prom Pictures

Image
Here are pictures from prom:

Prom was so much fun

Saturday was Prom. It was so much fun. I went with this guy named Craig Davis. So, for our day date we first had breakfast at this kids house and then after that we went and played some games. We played this one game called "Goolball" or something like that but anyways the object of the game is to try and block the ball, but rather than blocking it with your hands you block it with your body instead. Another, thing is we played it in the dark. It was pitch black so we couldn't see anything but that made the game more fun. Then, we played this game called Bodies. Its like murder in the dark. One other game we played, (it happens to be one of my favorites) was apples to apples. I really liked the day date. Then we went home, and and few hours later I started getting ready for prom. It was really fun getting ready. Doing hair, makeup, putting on the dress and the shoes, etc. But anyways, I really liked my dress. The best thing about it was I didn't even have

Just a Few Pictures

Image
Here are a few pictures from my trip to St. George. If you want to see them all they are on facebook.

We're back

We just got back from an amazing trip to St. George because of Spring Break. It was really fun. I enjoyed it a lot. Here are the major details. The first day, we went to Squeeze Rock. It is a really fun place. I highly recommend it if you ever go to St. George. The reason why it is called Squeeze Rock is because you have to fit in between these two huge rocks and be able to make it to the top. Sadly, I'm too big now so I couldn't go through. But I was still able to climb rocks so that was fun. The following day we went to Zions Natl. Park. If you haven't been there you need to. It was so pretty up there. The scenery is incredible. But anyways we went on this hike called Angel's Landing. I don't know if any of you have hiked it but it was hard. I wasn't expecting having to hold on chains to be able to climb up. So I made past the first part of the chains but when I saw the big, ginormous cliff I chickened out. I am afraid of heights anyways so I sat

Prom

Yesterday, at about 9:30 or so the doorbell rings and my mom answers it. There on the porch is a Lucky Charms ceareal box. It says on the front, "Elise Nielsen, you'll be a Lucky charm if you go to prom with me." Then in the inside, he says to find his name. And I found it. I am so excited to go. So in response, I went to Kohlers and got a bag of peanut butter m&ms. Then, I sorted the blue m&ms from the red ones. I mixed them all up in a jar. On the jar, I wrote, "Craig, if there are more blue m&ms than red m&ms then you are a BYU fan and I say yes but, if there are more red m&ms then you are a Ute fan and I say no. There are 30 blue m&ms and 29 red m&ms. So, I am taking it to his house tonight.

Random Stuff

I hope you all had a fun Easter. I know I did. You think you are too old for Easter egg hunting but no one is. It is just like Halloween. No one is too old to trick-or-treat. But, people have different views this is just my opinion. I really liked Easter. Whether it was dying easter eggs, finding eggs, having family over, or just playing with my cousins, it was all good. Speaking of school, I am so happy that 3rd term is over. I have been so stressed the whole term. I am really suprised that I got the grades I did. Only one more term till school gets out. Yea!!!!! Then, I will be finally be a senior. I am so excited about that. High school is almost over. It could be a bad thing or a good thing. I think of it more of a good thing because so many people have said college is way better than high school, so that is what I am looking forward to, trusting what they have said. A few weeks ago, I was able to go to a movie called Vantage Point. If you haven't seen it I high

Check this Out!

I got this article from msn.com. I thought it was really interesting. People like to get creative when it comes to selecting the perfect name for their new arrivals. But in the quest to be unique, some kids get stuck with monikers that do more than make them stand out in a crowd. Here's The Nest Baby's picks for the most questionable choices from the past year.Ptolemy: The only other one we know of is an ancient Greek astronomer, mathematician, and man extraordinaire. Actress Gretchen Mol reached a little too far back in history for this Mediterranean-inspired choice. No one will be able to pronounce it, and what happens when the kid studies his namesake in school? Ashby: If a name's going to start with "Ash" and end in a "y", there's just no question -- the middle's got to be "le." If you must mess with Ashley -– or any common name, for that matter -- please pick something that doesn't sound like a mispronunciation of the real th

Lone Peak pulls out a vicotry in double overtime to beat Davis 57-55.

Image
On Friday, I had the opportunity to go to the high school semi finals basketball game between the highly contested Lone Peak Knights and the small but good Davis high school. The game was mostly favored by Davis. They went into halftime leading by seven points but good 'ole Lone Peak Peak climbed back and then it was back and forth from then on. The key thing was free throws. Davis got fouled with four seconds left and could have won the game if they made both, but they only hit one so it went into the first overtime. Then, still being tied after the end of 4 minutes of overtime they went to a double overtime. That is where Tyler Haws comes in. With about 4 seconds on the clock being defended very well he was able to shoot over the defenders head and make it through. The Lone Peak crowd went wild!. Of course I did. We sat by the Davis people (not the students though) so I was like the only one cheering for Lone Peak. This was the most intense basketball game I have ever

Sweethearts

First off, before I go into Sweethearts I want to add that both Young Men's and Young Women's church basketball teams are going to region. I am pretty excited about that. Anyways, so, On Saturday around 6:30 I got picked up and first, we went and ate dinner at the Bishops house, because I soon found out that most of the priests asked the laurels so we all went as a church group, but it was still fun. Before we ate, we played games, not board games though. Our Bishop is rich, let me put it that way so he has an arcade room, where it has air hockey, Dance Dance Revolution (the arcade version), pinball, and others as well. It was so cool! My date and I played pinball and DDR so that was fun. Then, the Young Mens President and Priest Adviser came to take our order, so it was like resturant style. We both got a menu to share and got to pick what we want. The thing was though we didn't know what we were getting it was all random because the menu items were Book of Mormon

JT and Freddette dominates!

Image
On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to go to the BYU basketball game and watch the contest between the Cougars and the Utes. As much as I wanted BYU win, I was impressed that the Utes actually gave a good effort. When they were down by 7, they came back to be only down by 2. They never actually led though. The star on BYU's floor was no other than Jonathan Tavernari. He had 20 points. Also, Jimmy Freddette played extremely well, coming off the bench with 14 points. I am so glad that in the end they were able to hold them off. Tommorrow, Saturday is Sweethearts! Hopefully, it will go well and I am sure it will.

New York Domination

New York Dominates! Finally a team that is able to defeat the Patriots. What an awesome game it was. The first three quarters were slow because neither team scored that much. Patriots led 7 to 3 until the 4th quarter began. That was an awesome quarter. Giants get a touchdown but a few minutes later the Patriots respond with a touchdown from Randy Moss. The Patriots think that they are going to win, but little do they know what the Giants do in 2 minutes and 42 seconds. They make amazing plays and are able to comeback from a 14 to 10 deficit and are able to win. It is cool because last year the colts won and Payton Manning was the MVP and this year the Giants won and Eli Manning was the MVP. They are both brothers so that I think that is really awesome. Man, it was 3rd and 5 and Eli Manning took the snap and was about to get sacked but amazingly got out and through an amazing pass to David Tyree who was able to catch it on top of his helmet. He didn't let Rodney Harrison

Sweethearts

Hey, It was very interesting, on Wedensday night after I got home from Young Womens the doorbell rang. I was in my room in my pajamas so I just let somebody else answer it. My mom did and she asked me to come here and so I did. What it was, was an invitation to go to sweethearts. This guy in my ward asked me, and so I was pretty excited, especially since it is my first date. Notwithstanding all the excitement, I am also a little nervous, so hopefully it will go well. I am responding to him by giving him a basket filled with valentine candy corn and I am putting a bunch of slips of paper in which one has the answer to it.

My First Big Issue with the Snow

As you know, I am able to drive to school. When I drove to school on Thursday, which would be the 17th I think I parked between two cars. When school was over I came to my car as fast as I could to get out, (because the parking lot is a mess) but then I saw that my car was touching another car. I knew that I did not run into them. A few minutes later these girls came, and one of them said they saw a car slide into another car which touched mine. Thank goodness my car was ruined in any way. So as I tried to get out, my wheels ended up on a large mound of snow and so I wasn't able to go forward or reverse I was stuck. Luckily, these two guys came and helped, and also a girl from my ward that I know and her friend. Also there, was the girl's car that I touched. So, they pushed and I tried to get out but it was of no use. So, I called my mom and told her of the incident and she said she was at the junior high and that she would come immediatly. So, the guys decided to tr

Christmas and the New Year

I had a great Christmas break, the best thing about it was being out of school. I really enjoyed going to Ballet Wests, The Nutcracker. Every year myGrammie gets tickets for all of the girls and we go but before that we go to lunch. It is really fun. But for dessert we go to this chocolate place calledHatches . It is up in the avenues in Salt Lake, but there chocolate is so good. Every body in my family loves the hot chocolate because it tastes like liquid chocolate. But for some reason why I didn't really like it that much. It just had a weird taste to it, that's just my opinion. Of course, whats without Christmas than the food. I got so stuffed over the break. It was all good. Christmas was really fun. The most exciting thing that I got was thezune. The zune is like a video ipod but it has a much bigger and better screen. You can put movies (obviously), pictures, and music. It also has the radio on it. When I got it I got hysterical. My mom said that I got so excited that I
