Snowshoeing

Yesterday, on Thursday I had the chance to go showshoeing. Let me say that it was a lot of fun. If you haven't gone snowshoeing I highly recommend it. We went snowshoeing at the Solitude Nordic Center. It was very nice there. The scenery was awesome, the sun was out, and the air was clear. I say that the air was clear because the air of Utah is really gross these days. Plus, an all day pass to go snowshoeing is only $5. Another deal that I found out was if you go with a group of 10 or more people the pass is on $3 and if you need to rent snowshoes they are $6. It was pretty much a good deal. The only thing that wasn't great going snowshoeing was my straps on my snowshoes kept falling off so I had to keep adjusting them. It was kind of annoying. So, if you buy or rent snowshoes get some that will actually stay on your feet and not slip off. Solitude has good trails too. They have easy trails up to challenging ones as well, so it fits for everyone. As I said before it...

Today I went and saw Avatar. Everyone has been talking about it. They have also been talking about how amazing it is. In my opinion, the movie was amazing. James Cameron, delivers a great movie. It had a good storyline, good actors, but the most fantastic thing about the film were the special effects. They were outstanding! I never have seen anything like them. If this movie doesn't get an Oscar or Golden Globe I would be shocked. I highly recommend this movie to everyone. It is definitely worth the money you spend on it.

Nielsen Family Party

Every year my family and I go to the Nielsen Family Party. It is never in the same location, it has always been changing. This year we went to a Pizza Place up in West Valley City. The scary part though was driving up. The first happened when we were in the turning lane to go left, my dad went into another lane thinking it was also a turning lane but it really wasn't. So we turned left anyways. The second occurrence and by far the scariest one because we almost got killed was my dad got off a wrong exit. We still needed to be going on the freeway so my dad decides to cross lanes of traffic to get on the freeway. He didn't know that cars were coming and this one car was coming up fast and I thought that we were going to be hit. Luckily the guy slammed on his brakes and my dad drove faster and finally made it back to the freeway. Everybody was so shocked after that no one said anything much. The good thing is we got out of their alive. We finally made it up to the pizz...

Christmas Concert

Image
Last Thursday our family had the opportunity to go to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Concert. For the most part, I enjoyed it a lot. It was very entertaining. There were dancers, a children's choir that came, of course the orchestra and the choir, and then the featured guests were Natalie Cole and David McCullough. I had very high expectations for Natalie Cole. But when she started singing it did not sound good. The rest of the songs were not that good either. People that went on the other nights said she was amazing though so maybe she was just having a bad night. David McCullough on the other hand was pretty good. He narrated some Christmas stories. I thought it was a great performance though. The downside after the concert however was we were stuck in traffic in the parking lot. It took us over a half an hour just to get out of the lot. Despite that, everything went well and everyone all got home safely.

BYU vs. Utah game

So on Saturday I was able to go watch the game at my sister's apartment. The game itself was so intense but it was still a fun game to watch. It was also four hours long. It was such a long game. The great thing was BYU came on top with Max Hall passing to Andrew George who ran it into the end zone for the touchdown. When I saw that I started screaming my head off but who wouldn't? It reminded me of the time when I watched the 2006 BYU vs. Utah game when with three seconds left John Beck threw the ball to Johnny Harline. Oh man these games are going to be classics that's for sure. However, I wasn't too fond of Max Hall's comments after the game about Utah. He apologized later though saying it was more on the fans of Utah that threw beer at his family but I was so surprised that he would do that. I really didn't expect any BYU Player or Coach to do that but he sure did. However, I am glad that he apologized. I hope people will understand and know that ...
