College/Birthday

This past week I started school which was very interesting for a few reasons. I started on Thursday for my math class. The thing is I signed up for a 7am class, which would mean that in order to catch the bus I would have to get up at 5am, since the bus comes at 6. I have to admit though it hasn't been too bad as long I am in bed by 10, it works fine. On Thursday, I went to math not knowing at all that the teacher wouldn't show up. Today, when I went to math the teacher told us how sorry she was for not coming. Her excuse, which I found funny myself, was that she slept through three of her alarms plus she missed a call from her sister. She's a pretty deep sleeper I have to say. Anyways, this class went a lot better. Later on, I went to Lehi Junior High School for my history class with Scott Birell. Mr. Birell taught and is still currently teaching at Lone Peak High School where I went. Everyone that I have heard really liked him so I thought I would try him out mysel

July!!!

It has been a very long time since I posted I decided I would update it with things going on in my life. A couple of weeks ago my family and I were able to do the Salt Lake Connect Pass. It gets you into 14 different attractions to an amazingly low price. There are different options varying from one day passes all the way to yearly passes. Out of everything we did the favorites of mine were the Zoo, the Lionhouse, and the Clark Planetarium. First off, who doesn't like the zoo! All right, there are probably a few who hate walking around in the 90 degree weather looking at animals. But I absolutely love it. I look forward going to the zoo at least once a year. I'll admit my favorite animal is one that people would think weird but I love crocodiles nonetheless. The only disappointing thing about seeing the crocodiles are that they are always sleeping. The rest of the zoo was a lot of fun. Of course I liked the Lionhouse for the food. What else do you go there for? The Cla

Going Shooting!

Image
For the first time ever, I went shooting. Let me just say that it's not as easy as it looks but it was a lot of fun, especially knocking over soda cans. We went up by Utah Lake and they have a lot of good spots to go shooting up there, so that is what we did. We shot for a couple of hours or so and then stopped by Arctic Circle for an ice cream cone. ( Side note: Just to let you know don't ever go to McDonald's for ice cream. There ice cream is good but they rip you off with how little they give you for a $1. Arctic Circle gives you double the amount that McDonald's give you for only .64 cents. That is a way better deal). Then we headed back home.

The NBA Draft!

Image
This year in the draft I was anxious and excited to see who the Jazz would get. Turns out they picked 6"8, small forward Gordon Hayward. The thing that made me sort of irritated in this whole deal were the reactions from the fans. At the Energy Solutions Arena there were more boos than cheers. It's absolutely ridiculous. It seems like they complain every year with who the Jazz get. I don't blame them for wanting to draft bigger guys like Ed Davis or Greg Monroe, but Gordon Hayward is still pretty good. Here are some reasons why the Jazz made a good decision by drafting Gordon Hayward. First off, Hayward led his underdog Butler team to the national championship against Duke. I mean people weren't even expecting Butler to make it past even the first round and they only lost by two points to Duke. Secondly, Hayward averaged about 15 points a game. So he was one of the top scorers on the team. Thirdly, he can rebound. In the NBA, rebounding is crucial especiall

Five Guys!

Image
I am happy to say that I finally went and tried Five Guys Burgers and Fries out. I have been wanting to try out this place for a while and I finally got my chance so I did. Let me just say that the fries are to die for. They are so good. These fries, in my opinion, are better than JCW's, IKEAs, Icebergs, and In-n-Outs. What made them so good was that they were the long and big ones, not the wimpy, small ones at In-n-Outs. They were were delicious. The hamburger was pretty good as well. I recommend this burger joint for sure. If you are in the mood for hamburgers and fries check out Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Hiking the Y!

Image
So today Bryce and I attempted to hike up to the Y. We seriously didn't realize what we were getting ourselves into. It all started when we were driving up there. It was a yellow light and I didn't want to stop so I risked it and turns out it changes to red. A car is already turning and I have to slam on my brakes so I don't hit the car. That would've been an accident we would not have enjoyed or liked for that matter. So after all that, we finally were able to use our Google Map directions and get to the trail to the Y in no time. We found the trail and started hiking for two miles or so and we are getting towards the end and all that we saw was a fence and a car parking lot. I was not happy. So, we decided why don't we just climb up the mountains and see if we can find the Y that way. Turns out that was the worst idea ever. We start climbing higher and higher, and by the way we went off the trail and tried to find it ourselves. Don't ever do that wh

Grammie's 70th Birthday!

Image
On May 1st, we celebrated my Grammie's 70th birthday at our church building. It was fun to see the family get together for a party. The best thing was we held the party at the church and we had it in the gym so we were able to play basketball, which was a lot of fun by the way, even more fun with more people that participated. The food was great as well. The main dish was pork sandwiches which were delicious, with sides of salads, chips, and drinks. The dessert was of course cake and ice cream. It doesn't get any better than that. I would enjoyed it more had I not been feeling a little sick. Anyways here are some pictures from the party itself.

Iron Man 2!!

Image
Tonight at midnight I am going to see Iron Man 2. I am so excited to go see it. It looks amazing so hopefully it doesn't disappoint. Plus this is the first midnight movie I have ever gone to so I hoping that it will be worth it. I am sure it will.

Watching the Jazz Game

On Wednesday, I finally got to go watch a jazz game. My brother and I went up to the district (megaplex theatre) to watch. The best thing was that it didn't cost anything. Plus we got to watch it on a the theatre size screen so that was pretty cool. Overall, it was a very fun and entertaining game to watch despite seeing the jazz lost. Seriously, I know I blame the refs a lot for games but seriously no joke these refs seemed like they were favoring Denver. They called a lot of stupid calls on us, and then when it looked like Denver fouled the jazz they didn't call it. I was pretty mad at that. I mean this is the NBA, people. Can't the organization get good refs. I mean these refs on Wednesday night seemed to be more like high school refs. Anyways that's all I have to say about the issue. It was pretty cool too cause on commercials the staff would throw on some contests and they even gave away free popcorn too. I wish I could watch every jazz basketball game a

I Finally Have My Braces Off!!!

Image
Last Wednesday, I got my braces off for good. I am so happy and relieved to have them off. Having them on and off for over seven years or so took some patience but in the end it was worth it.

The NBA Playoffs

Image
So the NBA Playoffs have officially began. The question is who is going to win it all? Of course, I would really want the Jazz to win. However, that would be highly unlikely since Andrei Kirilenko is out for an injury and then just recently Mehmet Okur re-injured himself, and guess what he's out for the season. How much worse can it get for them? Seriously. I hate when players get injuries, especially now in the playoffs where it is the most important part of the season. The Jazz sure aren't the Cavilers, who I think by the way are going to win it all. Look at the Cavs, and tell me that they aren't the hottest team in the NBA, because they sure look like it. They have Lebron James of course and now Shaq is back too and is more healthy than ever. They also have Antawn Jamison and they have other players as well who are also good including former Jazzman Mo Williams, Anderson Varejao, and Delonte West. From what I have heard and seen they are most powerful team in the

My Dream Job!!!

Since I am bored and I have nothing to write about I might as well write about my dream job. If you know me you know I am really into sports, not just like an average sports fan or whatever but I get really into sports. I love playing sports and watching them. I love playing basketball and tennis. Those are my two favorite sports that I like to play. On the other hand, my favorite sports that I like to watch are football and also basketball. Anyways, giving you that background on me you probably get the idea of what my dream job would be. I would love to go into Sports Journalism and eventually either become a sports writer or a sports reporter (I am leaning towards the reporter more). I am thinking that maybe I could work for ESPN too, that would be pretty cool. Being able to interview big football stars from Peyton Manning to Drew Brees to basketball stars such as Deron Williams to Lebron James. Let me just say that would be awesome for me. Plus, as a reporter you get to be r

Going to Vernal

Image
During Spring Break my mom and I had the chance to go out to Vernal. The main reason that we went there was my mom had to do some work there. After she got her work done we were able to go to a few places and site see. The first place we went to was the Dinosaur Museum. My expectations weren't that high going into the Museum. However, I thought it was a really fun Museum. I learned some new things as well. Here are some pictures of us exploring the Museum: The second place we went to was a state park called Red Fleets. It's called Red Fleets because the trees look like a fleet of ships. Anyways, the scenery was very beautiful there. Here are some pictures from Red Fleets: The third and last place we went to on our day trip was the Vernal Temple. We didn't actually get to go inside it because there wasn't enough time but we got to take pictures of it on the outside so it was still pretty cool. However, I am so used to modern temples that we have now that it was

Why can't this snow just leave

Image
I for one am not a fan of the snow, especially it being spring and April and the weather still continues to be snowy and cold. We have had some days though that have been pretty nice but then again we have also had days that have been cold as well. The weather here in Utah is very unpredictable. Right now its seems like it is being a bit bipolar. This weather just needs to settle down and start warming up. This needs to turn into This

April Fool's Day

Every year Bryce does something on April Fools Day. Last year it was turning the milk green and having a container of Lego's come crashing down on my head when I wasn't expecting it, this year was kind of different. Being the clever boy that he is he decided to go to the circuit board down stairs and turn half of the switches off. Basically, half of our lights and plugs worked. Me being as clueless as I was wondered why the heck some of the lights and plugs worked and some didn't. For example, I was making a smoothie today and when I went to turn on the switch to the blender it wouldn't turn on. So I tried plug after plug until finally the plug by the desk worked. My mom came downstairs to the storage room to see what was going on. Sure enough, she takes me down there and on the circuit board is a note that says, "April Fools." Bryce is a real jokester, let me tell ya. He also poured water on Chris, however Chris got him back worse by pouring more water

March Madness!

Image
This March Madness has been crazy. There have been so many upsets by higher seed teams. For example Cornell, an Ivy League school making it to the sweet Sixteen, are you kidding me? No one expected them to even win the first round and they made it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen, pretty impressive I have to say. Then, look at Northern Iowa, another school like Cornell that no one thought would win. But they keep on winning and impressing a lot of people, especially winning over top seeded Kansas, which completely ruined my bracket because I had Kansas winning it all. Then just last night, Butler winning over Syracuse. Who would have predicted that? These small schools have been working their butts off for sure. This March Madness has been a huge surprise to everyone. Even President Obama picked Kansas like me to win it all. I don't really know whats happened to these top schools. Kansas, Georgetown, Villanova (which was the least impressive #2 seed in the whole tournamen

California!

Image
Last week I was fortunate enough to go to California. Let me just say that it was a lot of fun. It was nice being in a place where the average temperature was in the 70's. During the week we were able to go and some fun things. On Tuesday, we were able to go to the Getty Museum. It was an amazing museum plus we didn't have to pay for admission. I was just amazed by everything in the museum. the architecture, the beautiful gardens, and just the Museum itself. Here are some pictures from the Getty. Then on Wedensday and Friday we were able to go Malibu and spend time at the Zuma Beach. It was a lot of fun. We even saw Dolphins jump out of the water. It was pretty cool. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of them but we still took some awesome pictures at the beach. Here they are. O> Then on Saturday we were able to go to the LA temple and the Santa Monica Pier. Here are pictures from that. Overall, it was a very fun trip despite all the long hours driving
