High School Sports
So, I am a Lone Peak high school graduate and Lone Peak is pretty good at sports. However, this year just seems like a downside for them. For example, when I went to school at Lone Peak we kept picking up championships for volleyball, basketball and other sports but this year is just not good for them.
In football we made it to the quarterfinals and then lost, in girl's volleyball we lost to pleasant grove, and in basketball the sport that I think we are best in we didn't do so good. We lost to Bingham, but they are good in sports that's for sure, picking up a state championship in football which I was really ticked about.
I just think a lot of the good players who went to Lone Peak are gone. Look what past Lone Peak players have done though. Jackson Emery and Tyler Haws are doing a heck of a job playing basketball at BYU. You also have Lacie Cramer who does track at BYU and she is doing awesome. And then you have some volleyball players such as Heather Hanneman, who graduated my year to go to BYU and play and Christie Carpenter who graduated earlier on to also play volleyball.
In my opinion, schools that I really liked this year in sports are/were Davis, Juan Diego, and I just really like the Collinsworth kid from Provo. Too bad Provo didn't get to go to the state championship this year, Timpview went instead.
Anyways starting off with Davis, they have a lot of talent. Let me just tell you its hard for a school to go to a boy's state championship football and basketball game but who did that this year and last year. Davis did. Not a lot of schools that I mean really because 5A has a lot of schools that play really well in sports. I think Tanner Hinds has to be my favorite though. He just is an amazing athlete and I think he will do really well at Weber State.
I really liked the football team at Juan Diego especially Keegan Anderson the wide receiver/defensive back. He was awesome on both sides of the field. On defense he had quite a few interceptions and just played well defensively and on offense he was just a heck of a wide receiver meaning he was really good. I actually got to watch him on channel 14 for a Friday night game and man he's an athlete. I think like Hinds he is going to do really well too being able to be coached by his dad up at Utah State.
And finally Kyle Collinsworth. Wow, that's all I can say about this kid. He played really good for his team this year again. Too bad he couldn't add a state title though. Going into the basketball season I thought that Provo was going to be the team to beat at the state championship but sadly didn't happen. Good thing Collinsworth is only a sophomore I think so he has a few more years to play ball at Provo.
Well there you have it my analysis on High School Sports.
